Vista has fewer security vulnerabilities than the competition in past 6 months… again Once again, Vista has fewer vulnerabilities than everyone else these past six months. What I find humorous is that OSX 10.4 has only slightly fewer than XP, but a higher number of them are unfixed. Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInMoreRedditWhatsAppSkypeEmail
Vista + Visual Studio 2005 + Remote Desktop == teh suck Alright, maybe my VPN is slow, but I don’t think that’s the real problem here. It looks to me like Visual Studio repaints everything like 600 times when using it through remote desktop on Vista. I don’t know why the performance is so bad, but I’m literally seeing like one keystroke taking a second or more to […] Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInMoreRedditWhatsAppSkypeEmail
Safari on Windows In case you haven’t been following the Apple news flowing in from the WWDC, Apple has officially announced the public beta of Safari for Windows. Very interesting move and very bold performance claims where they claim beating IE by 2x and Mozilla/FireFox by 1.6x in their benchmarks. Unfortunately this means yet another browser to test on for […] Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInMoreRedditWhatsAppSkypeEmail

Bitten by the Red Ring of Death Argh, I’ve been bitten by the XBox 360 Red Ring of Death. The best part? All I was doing was watching a DVD when it happened. Not even an HD-DVD, just a regular DVD. 🙁 The sad thing is I was just getting ready to sell it so I can upgrade myself an Elite edition because I really […] Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInMoreRedditWhatsAppSkypeEmail
Mimeo goes 24-bit PNG… IE6 put up a hell of a fight Ok, this is a long one, but worth the read if you enjoy the challenges of debugging and working around problems in code that you have absolutely no control over. It’s also a great read if you just hate IE and want to laugh at the brief bout of insanity it caused me. 🙂 First, a […] Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInMoreRedditWhatsAppSkypeEmail

Silverlight technology map says it all… Still not sure what Silverlight is or is capable of? Here’s a little visual aid to help out. Quite possibly one of the best technology maps I can ever remember coming out of Microsoft actually. Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInMoreRedditWhatsAppSkypeEmail
ASP.NET AJAX Futures May ’07 CTP Documentation So they put up the documentation for the May ’07 CTP of ASP.NET AJAX futures. Here’s the client reference. Hey, great, they added support for querying by CSS selectors and integrated history features into the Application class, but mainly the documentation is about dynamic languages and Silverlight now. Do you see any documentation for XML-Script? […] Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInMoreRedditWhatsAppSkypeEmail
Where’s the MSHTML/IE news? I find it strange that there has been absolutely no mention of what the MSHTML/IE teams are working on right now yet at Mix. I remember they stood on stage last year and talked about much shorter product cycles. Shouldn’t we be expecting some kind of new enhancements by at least the early second half 2007? I […] Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInMoreRedditWhatsAppSkypeEmail
